Vice President
Europe

Dear Brethren,
I was raised in a family with 13 children. My father was a very strict sabbath observer, and we as children had to join in. Later on in life I made my own choice for the sabbath and I never regretted it. I got to know my husband, Jan Lek, at a sabbatarian youth camp (SAJO kamp). At present we have been married for nearly 40 years now. We have three great sons and four dear grandchildren. Our marriage has had highs and lows, as we are not simple copies of each other.
Jan and I have done many things together and we are out to help and support each other. Together we have travelled a lot and we continue making contacts with sabbath-keeping brethren abroad.
In 2008 I was appointed Vice-President of the European branch of the SDB World Federation. It is no easy thing as there are so many different languages in Europe. More often than not the doctrines of the groups within the different countries differ as well, because of language, culture and tradition.
I have been blessed by God with many talents, talents which I may use in His service. I am very thankful, that God is giving me the strength to do so many things for Him. My personal motto is from Paul's letter to the Galatians, As we therefore have opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto those who are of the household of faith (Gal 6:10).
Whenever I am able to make other people happy, it makes me happy and I don't have to have something in return, for the Lord blesses us tremendously! Jan and I are a strong team together, especially as we are very tolerant towards each other's needs. Jan and I are a perfect match! We hope and pray that God will continue to give us the strength to serve Him,
With love in Christ,
Mrs. Ruth Lek
